About unclaimed money and our search.
What is unclaimed money?
Money a company owed you but couldn't deliver: a last paycheck, a deposit, a refund, an insurance payout, a forgotten bank account, stock or a utility deposit. After a while the company must turn it over to the state, and the state holds it until the owner claims it.
Is the search really free?
Yes. We search the states you pick and tell you how much we found in your name. You never pay to find out.
What does the $9.99 get me?
Where your money is: which state holds it, how much, who reported it and the state's property ID. Plus your claim kit: the link to claim it, the steps, and what to have ready. All of it is emailed to you too.
How do I claim it?
You claim it yourself, with the state, and the state pays you directly. In most states it takes a few minutes online. Your claim kit gives you the link and every step.
How long does it take?
Your search answers right away. Once you file, most states pay in 30 to 90 days.
Can I search for a late parent or relative?
Yes. Put their name in "Other names you've used". Heirs can usually claim with a death certificate and proof of who they are; we'll tell you what that state asks for.
